Ron Bailey

Ron Bailey has a passion for watercolour and a great love of the Australian landscape.  He loves colour and uses it boldly to convey his message. 

He finds watercolour exciting because every painting is a challenge and requires courage to successfully execute it.  The artist is always poised between success and failure due to the demanding nature of the medium. This exercise in courage is evident in his work, which he tries to capture both the beauty and harshness of the Australian outback, where he has travelled extensively over a number of years.  Ron also paints the softer landscapes around his organic farm at St Andrews, where he and his family have lived for more than thirty years.  His work is affected by his commitment to and love of the Australian landscape.
